Winter Sun, Dreaming Seed: Yin Yang Yoga


Winter solstice brings with it the the return of the sun and longer days, as well as the official onset of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. We also welcome the Water Element, a time of deep rest, replenishment, mystery, transformation and dreaming. The seeds are sleeping, turning over in their beds under a snowy blanket, while the sun comes to visit for a little bit longer each day.

This winter, Living Maps is pleased to offer an 8 week yoga series designed to support us on our wintery watery journey. Our practice will honour this time of sacred rest and dreaming with yin yoga, guided meditation, essential oils and acu-points, while also supporting our inner spark, with a warming yang sequence based around variations on the sun salutation and heart opening back bends. This is the perfect balanced practice to support both the yin and the yang; the need for rest and mystery, as well as warmth, connection and movement. There will be a focus on the Kidney and Bladder Meridians, lower back health, the heart and the circulation system.

This practice is open to all levels and different modifications will be offered for beginner, intermediate or advanced.

There is something for everyone in this series.

We will also be working with the moon phases, and learning acu-points and essential oil combinations to support winter wellness. This session we will be working with rose and balsam fir essential oils.

PAYMENT

As always the series is offered on a sliding scale.

For this 8 week series, the suggested payment scale is in the range of $88 - $168

(No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you can’t afford that suggested amount, please find an amount that feels right for your income level. On the other hand, if you can comfortably pay more than the suggested amount, please feel free to do so as this helps balance things out in the end. )

CLASS TIME

The class is offered live via Zoom: Mondays 6 - 7:10pm

(the last 10 minutes are for Sivasana - resting)

ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES

If you can’t join live, the class is also offered asynchronously via weekly private video links.

When you register for the session, you will have unlimited access to all videos.

(if there is a class you particularly loved, you can go back and repeat throughout the week as needed <3 )
